Banana Halwa or Balehannu halwa is a simple yet exquisite dessert that simply melts in your
mouth leaving its delicate taste. This recipe consists of only three major ingredients i.e., Sugar,
Ghee and Banana. Balehannu Halwa is a major desert mostly in the Karavali Region of State
of Karnataka.
The genuine banana/ balehannu halwa is made by using a special kind of banana which is called
as “Nendran” or “Nendra” banana. Other than this kind banana halwa is also prepared by using
another variety of banana which is well known by the name “Yelakki bale” or “Putta bale” or
“yelakki bale”.

Ingredients: well mature bananas (Yelakki bale/ Putta bale / Neypoovan/ Njalipoovan)/ ney poovan) or just 3 Nendra bale / bananas, sugar, ghee, powdered cardamom (optional), broken cashews or dry fruits Bananas are a miracle fruit which is healthy as well extremely delicious.
